Clarence Edwards was a blues guitarist born in Lindsay, Louisiana in 1933. He learned to play guitar at a young age and played with various local blues bands in the 1950s and 1970s. He disappeared from the blues scene in the 1970s and 1980s and worked day jobs, but was rediscovered in the late 1980s by UK musician Steve Coleridge, who recorded his first full-length album “Swamp’s The Word”. Between 1990 and 1993, Steve recorded Clarence in the studio and on live shows, which featured Clarence on guitar and vocals, Steve on bass, and Ronnie Houston on drums. Some tracks were recorded with violinists Gina Forsyth and Scott Shipman, and guitarists Pat Morrison.
