Tag: Dixieland
Dixieland is a style of jazz music that originated in New Orleans in the early 20th century, characterized by its lively, upbeat tempo and collective improvisation. It is often considered one of the earliest forms of jazz, developing in the 1910s. Dixieland typically features a front line of trumpet (or cornet), clarinet, and trombone, with a rhythm section that includes piano, banjo or guitar, bass or tuba, and drums. The music emphasizes a joyful, ensemble-driven sound, where multiple instruments improvise simultaneously around a central melody. Dixieland is also known as traditional jazz or hot jazz, and it played a key role in the popularization of jazz both in the United States and internationally.
